Bol's Cave Museum
After a brief hilly, jungle hike and superb vista, you and a member of the Bol family will descend through a narrow, (app/ 36” diameter) natural opening to discover over 1000 artifacts found at the site that tell the story of Maya life. This unique site offers the variety of artifacts one might find in an archaeological museum, but those have been removed from their sites of origin. This significant array of artifacts was found and remains “in situ,” organized on cave ledges only to protect them from visitor feet.
Enhance your visit to the cave by doing this tour at night. This is an exclusive experience for guests of Mariposa only and a unique opportunity to witness nocturnal jungle life. The distant lights of San Antonio Village and Spanish Lookout are seen when you exit the jungle canopy.
