Our Reviews!
Great place for Adventure
We spent 5 nights at Mariposa as a family of 4 (kids 8 and 10) in March 2025 and had a wonderful time. The location is great for tons of stunning activities and adventures like ATM cave, Pine ridge reserve and Rio Frio Cave, Caracol, tubing through Caves Branch/Nohoch Che’en, as well as San Ignacio. The hotel arranges all the tours, guides, and transportation for you (they have over 15 options to choose from) before you arrive and you can also do a meal plan, so once you arrive almost everything is taken care of and you’re not having to worry about booking anything or plan timing or costing your spend out. The food is also excellent, my husband is celiac and the chef prepared wonderful and varied gluten free options for every meal and they sent us a questionnaire in advance about our food preferences and also took those into account at every meal. We loved that the hotel had a hiking trail and a bird tower, i saw so many beautiful birds and animals on the hotel property, including toucans, monkeys, agoutis, and multiple species of hummingbird duking it out at a hummingbird feeder just a few feet from us as we ate breakfast at beyoutiful outdoor tables with excellent service. The cabanas were beautiful and air conditioned for when you needed it but also had a screened in porch where you can lie in a hammock and absorb the forest. My kids loved that it had a pool, foosball table and ping pong table, and a games room as well. They would hang out and play with kids from other families in the afternoons after the tours were done. Overall, an incredible experience. Highly recommend it.
