A Wonderful little Lodge!
Such a wonderful little lodge in a peaceful jungle setting. It’s about a 25 minute drive into San Ignacio and only 10 minutes to the cute little town of San Antonio, so a good base for exploring the Cayo district. We had a large group of 12 family members staying in 3 different cabanas. The cabanas were clean, comfortable, nicely appointed, and had both AC and ceiling fans. Robi, Vanessa, and Norma made us feel like part of their family. The food, presentation, drinks, and hospitality were all incredible. The pool is small, but very nice and has a lovely waterfall feature. There is pingpong and other games and activities next to the pool bar, so plenty to do for those who can’t sit still. Robi was incredibly helpful and a wealth of knowledge and information. Robi recommended the tour of Oxmul coffee farm in San Antonio, which was fascinating and so worth it! My 18 year old son is a coffee guy, and Robi graciously let him take over his bar and coffee machine at Mariposa each morning so my son could become the barista for our family while we were there. My son really enjoyed that! We made some incredible memories at the Mariposa, and I would love to go back some day! I highly, highly recommend the Mariposa as a base for exploring the Cayo district.
