From the moment I arrived I fell in love with this place, When I arrived I was greeted with a welcome drink and shown to my room. I stayed in the Orchid cabana which is the first cabana you come to from the parking lot and as a solo traveler I was appreciative. The cabana was clean and cozy and exceeded my expectations, You had wifi both in the room and in the dining area and pool, The grounds are beautiful I wandered around before dinner and took advantage of the bird watching tower. I have to say I saw so many birds there during my stay . One morning I was happy to spot a couple of Toucans . I cant say enough about all off the staff everyone was so nice , during my month in Belize and all the places I stayed the staff at Mariposa were the best, The gardener was kind enough to show me his vegetable garden , he was very proud and rightfully so it was a beautiful garden.
The one thing I have to mention is the food , I chose the meal package because I was travelling solo without a car, My expectations were I would get the typical resort food ok but not spectacular. Well I was wrong !!! Chef Norma is the best not only was this the best food I have eaten in Belize it was the best food I have ever eaten!! She is the most wonderful Chef , The food was not only Delicious but it was beautiful. I extended my stay an extra night and part of it was I wanted to stay and eat Chef Norma’s delicious meals, Thank You to all the staff at Mariposa for making me feel like I was not alone, I felt as if I was staying with family.
