Belize Zoo

Tropical Education Center

Fondly known as “The Best Little Zoo in the World,” it was started in 1983 when 17 animals were rescued after the filming of a natural history documentary. This delightful jungle zoo has grown over the years and now touts 29 acres of natural habitats housing over 125 animals, most of which were born, rescued, or rehabilitated there. This is the only place to see all the indigenous animals of Belize, most of which are wild, nocturnal, and hard to find.
